Rich Rutherford

Rich RutherfordRich founded Project Navigation in 2006 to provide expert guidance for healthcare organizations implementing electronic health records, their related processes and enabling technology.  Rich serves as President and General Partner of Project Navigation and is a Registered Nurse and certified Project Management Professional with more than twelve years of experience in healthcare, information technology consulting, clinical roles,  process  and project management.  Rich has a goal to provide for the successful implementation of electronic health records which he believes will “improve patient care and facilitate access to healthcare for all… the reason why we are passionate about providing expert direction to healthcare organizations as they seek to implement these solutions." Prior to founding Project Navigation, Rich served as a Senior Project Manager at Allscripts and as an Enterprise Clinical Program Manager at McKesson, and previously as a staff nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

Rich is a graduate of Messiah College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He is a certified Project Manager Professional and a Microsoft Certified Professional.  He has completed coursework in the Entrepreneur program at University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.  Rich is a member of the local chapter of DVMS HIMSSS as well as the local Health Care Chapter of PMI. He also a member of PAeHI and participates in the local interest group. Rich resides in Southeastern Pennsylvania with his wife and two children and enjoys playing golf and surfing in his free time.


Simon Curtis

Simon CurtisSimon serves as Vice President and Partner of Project Navigation and has over eighteen years of experience in healthcare, information technology consulting, project management and product management.  He has managed and delivered many large scale enterprise electronic health record (EHR) implementations in health systems and physician practices.  Prior to joining Project Navigation, Simon served as a project manager and implementation consultant at Allscripts where he won the Service Professional of the Year award. He has also served as an interface analyst, implementation consultant and project manager while at IDX. Previous roles include as a genetic researcher at Joslin Diabetes Center and as an emergency medical technician in New York state.

Simon is a graduate of St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Biology, a Minor in Chemistry and Honors in Genetics.  He enjoys woodworking and mountain biking.
